Hear the Ferrari LaFerrari’s V-12 Sing – Video Find With the Ferrari LaFerrari supercar’s reveal at the 2013 Geneva auto show, the automaker has wasted no time in publicizing the car on its official video channel. While the video shows the LaFerrari in action, it also features the Italian supercar’s 789-hp 6.3-liter V-12 (and 161-hp HY-KERS electric motor) at full song. The automaker has also released several videos giving an in-depth look at the LaFerrari’s chassis, HY-KERS system, architecture, and vehicle dynamics.

Ferrari LaFerrari official launch video image 6 300x187 imageThe LaFerrari’s predecessors kick off the official launch video beginning with the 1984 GTO, the 1987 F40, 1996 F50, and 2002 Enzo. Next, the camera angles give an up close view of the LaFerrari’s details before it heads to the track where the mighty V-12 makes some angelic noises as it spins to its 9250 rpm redline.

Ferrari describes the LaFerrari’s carbon fiber construction in the second video; the automaker says it uses several types of carbon fiber and construction methods depending on their function. Another technology trickled down from motorsports is the Formula 1 style HY-KERS hybrid system, which supplies additional power when needed, as described in the third video. Nothing on the LaFerrari was left to chance. The fourth video shows how the packaging of the LaFerrari’s drivetrain, occupants, and other systems contribute to its weight distribution and center of gravity. All of these characteristics enhance the new supercar’s driving dynamics, as described in the final video.
